Colonial Funeral Home of Leesburg Obituary

On June 18, 2021, Pat Edwards entered into her eternal reward and met her Savior face to face.

She is survived by brothers Jonah Mitchell (Nicholasville, Kentucky), Arthur Edwards (Aurora, Indiana), and Hubert Edwards Jr. (Aurora, Indiana); and sisters Caroline Detmer (Madison, Indiana) and Amanda Joe Jackson (Madison, Indiana); as well as her best friends, the Hoadley family.

Preceding Pat in death were her father Hubert Edwards, mother Amanda Edwards, brothers Chester Mitchell Jr. and Eli Mitchell, and sisters Reva Mae McAdams and Ardelia Mitchell.

Pat was adored by her father and was a very hard worker from an early age, graduating from Westland University in Pennsylvania.

She dedicated her life to Christian education, and spent 24 years on staff at Cornerstone Chapel. She loved to travel, adored her two Maine Coon cats, and was blessed by the love of many close friends.

A Celebration of Pat's Life will be held on Wednesday, June 23rd, at 11 A.M. at Cornerstone Chapel in the Sanctuary, 650 Battlefield Parkway, S.E., Leesburg, VA  20175.

Please join us this Wednesday as we thank the Lord for her life and the impact she made for His kingdom.

I love you, My Pat and will miss you. Until we meet again. Peace.

I love you, Pat and will miss you. Until we meet again.

I was very sorry to hear this news. Pat had a servant's heart and encouraged others. I was a young man when she gave me a chance to work with kids, setting a path for me in education and I will be forever grateful for her influence in that. I'm grateful knowing that she rejoicing with the Lord in her forever home.

Sorry to hear this. Pat was a true Christian. Sincere about her faith. Compassionate for those she served in ministry. And a good sense of humor. See you later, Pat.

A true sister in Christ and Christian educator! Pat helped my staff and I at County Christian School with CDA training, preschool accreditation and staff development for many years. She was always willing to help. Thank you dear and faithful servant!

Pat was such a servant. Her life was a blessing to so many.

When I think of times that I spent serving in ministry with Pat, I remember the tremendous amount of compassion she had for others. Pat listened and led with her heart in all areas of her life. She was equally generous with her time and her love that so many of us were fortunate to have been on the receiving end of all.

A loving person who was a true reflection of God’s love. Though Pat will be greatly missed, this is not goodbye.. Instead we say “see you later” to Pat who is...

I didn’t know Pat but have heard so many wonderful things from people at Cornerstone Chapel. I’m so sorry for the families loss. I know she will be missed greatly by everyone that knew her.
