Mrs. Penrose's kind words of encouragement and generous donations have helped to bring positive change in the lives of many children in Coy, Alabama. We are very grateful.

John and family, I had the honor of meeting your mother once as I shared with her my recent travels to Kenya for a project she supported with World Vision: St. Elizabeth Girls Secondary School. Your mother was so spiritually gracious and moved by God's love to do His work. I witnessed her applying her intelligence to the cultural issues that kept girls from attending school. Your tribute in her obituary is what I experienced of her. Your mother will live on the lives of the girls educated...

John, and family,Our deepest sympathy to you on the passing of your mother. we got to know Pat when she married your father Frank our cousin. Had alot of good times getting to know her. May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief. Tom LaSalle and Darlene Daudell

John, Angie & family,
I'm so sorry to be reading this about your mother's passing. It sounds like she made a big impact on a lot of students & leaves behind a wonderful legacy, you should be proud.
My sincerest condolences,
Marisol

My deepest sympathy to the Penrose family on the passing of Pat.
May her time in heaven be as remarkable as her time on earth.

Mrs. Penrose is rejoicing in the presence of the Saviour she loved, but leaves behind many who loved her and will miss her. She taught me more than English. We sang in the choir together at St. John's and I considered her a mentor and a friend. My condolences to her family in this difficult time.

How wide to I have to open my arms to show the heavens how grateful I am for your example and inspiration? You gave me the gift of my career, teaching high school English, as you gave wisdom, logic, and humanity. Sharp and in tune with literature, you made characters want to live! Sisyphus, Huck Finn, Caesar, Hamlet, Faulkner's Bundens and Virgil!
Thank you for EVERYTHING.
You are one of the greats.
I'll miss you.

Mrs. Penrose was the first teacher to open my mind to literature and writing. Before email and the internet, she gently implied that being a poor writer will make you look like an idiot. She was right. Further, I never encountered an English professor in college that could ever match her level of expertise, interest, and care. Thank you, Mrs. Penrose.
