I want to let you know how wonderful I feel your mom and grandma was. I worked with Pat at Operation Hope homeless shelter as volunteers. I can see her smile as I think about her. She did such a fantastic job as meal coordinator that I was so worried when she moved that we could never replace her. I had the privelege of knowing Pat for only a little over a year when I joined the volunteers working with Operation H.O.P.E., Vista's cold-weather shelter for homeless women and families. Pat had the VERY challenging task of organizing the evening meals made by a wide variety of organizations for the entire four month shelter season. Pat and her late husband, Harry, lived next door to my parents (Robert and Roberta Sloop) in the late 60's and 70's. Pat actually had lived next to us with her children before that time, and it was my father who introduced Harry to her. Pat's younger son, Eric, babysat my youngest daughter, and I worked with Gayle at Pacific Telephone in Escondido. My sister JoAnn (Sloop) Crisp and I send our condolences to all the family.
