Patty changed the way dogs were trained, making it an enjoyable time for so many dogs and their owners.

I can't believe how long you've been gone, Patty. You changed dog training for me and so many others and made so many canine lives better. "Put a cookie on it" saved many a relationship.

I thought of Patty many times yesterday, Feb. 2, her birthday. I always think of her on that day because it is so easy to remember (Groundhog's Day).

She was one of the most positive and funny people I ever met. She was also very observant and astute. For example, when I blamed myself for a particular problem, she gave me insight into what she had observed that clearly showed I did not exclusively own that problem.
