Mary and Mark, Please accept condolences. Didn't know Pat, so the obit gave me a helpful sense of what an outstanding person she was. No surprise there!

Aunt Patsy was a wonderful person with a warm and vivacious personality. She was a big support to my parent's in their early years as Wayne State students. I remember vividly our trips through the Windsor tunnel to visit them in Canada, and later at their home in what was then a rather mysterious concept to me -- the suburbs. Their move to Grand Rapids led to epic adventures in the carriage house adjoining their "mansion on the hill" with a truly lively bunch of cousins. Those were good...

When my Grandma Pat called to tell us she had cancer, she was more worried about getting another container for her kitchen compost than her diagnosis. Her focus on the future was clearly demonstrated to me that day. Nobody composts who isn't focused on tomorrow. Each day is here because of tomorrow, not yesterday. Grandma, Thanks for the grilled cheese sandwiches, but I'm more thankful for the lesson on feeding those that just show up to your house. I'd move a 1000 window air...

Pat was my mother-in-law for 44 years and my friend for longer. She was my "partner in crime" in many fun activities. She was the only one who could teach me to drive a stick shift, sorry Jim. The only problem....She made me drive that car over to her house! I strapped two toddlers into their car seats and away we jerked up the back roads to grandmothers house!
