Not sure what to say?

I am who and what I am today becasue of the impact that Mrs. Terrill had on my life so many years ago. I not only found a love for learning, but a love for teaching when I was in 1st grade. I teach 4th grade now and every year I talk about why I became a teacher and I always say it is because of my amazing 1st grade teacher. I still place a small painted pot on my Christmas tree each year - a gift from Mrs. Terrill that her dad painted. She was an amazing lady!

Rit, I am so saddened to know that your mother has died. I remember how much I enjoyed her company when she helped to chaperone the HOSA event in Plano. She was so proud of you! I pray for you and your brother at this time. How I would love to visit with you. Fondly, Mrs. Fenley

Ms. Terrill was one of the best teachers I ever had and was a great friend to our family. We will miss her so much, but we know she is in a better place. To her mom and sons, we are praying for you, and you will continue to be in our thoughts.

I just got word that my 1st grade teacher, Pat Terrill, passed away. I suspect that Wednesday at 4:00 in our sanctuary will only be a small glimpse at the impact she made teaching in Irving. I have so many memories. My 1st spanking in school was from jumping on Ms. Terrill’s bean bag chair. You see, it was in the reading pit in our 1st grade room in the new John F. Townley Elementary School. It was actually after school hours, my mom working as an aid, and me bored. Ms. Terrill knew how to...

I will never forget the first day that my daughter was in Pat's first grade class at Townley. I had chosen Pat as Jennifer's teacher, and when Jennifer came home the first day and said, "Ms. Terrill's mean--I don't like her," I wondered if I had made a huge mistake!

No--it turned out to be the best choice I made in many years of Jennifer's education. If you were to ask Jennifer today (she's 33), I know she would say that Pat was her favorite teacher in the 13 years she was in Irving...

You are much loved and will be sorely missed.

Be at peace now, sweet Pat. Your days of struggle are over and nothing but warm sunshine and peaceful days are yours forever.
