Captain Patrick Charles Baird

Patrick Charles Baird, 64, of Poplar Bluff died unexpectedly Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Mr. Baird was born Jan. 21, 1947 in Carthage, Mo. He had retired as a Captain from the Missouri Highway Patrol Troop E in Poplar Bluff. Mr. Baird enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, flying, walking, politics and cooking. On Aug. 26, 1995, he married Janet Wilson Walker in Clinton, Mo. Mrs. Baird survives of the home. Other survivors include five children, Matthew Baird, Patrick Baird and Bill Baird all of Kansas City, Mo., Kit Walker and wife Lorie of Nashville, Tenn. and Jason Walker and wife Anna of Virginia Beach, Va.; 10 grandchildren; and three brothers, Rick Baird and wife Glenda of Carthage, Mo., Mike Baird and wife Connie of Carl Junction, Mo. and Brad Baird and wife Tracie also of Carthage, Mo. His parents, Raymond and Bonnie Demott Baird preceded Mr. Baird in death. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2, 2012 at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The Missouri Army Honors team will fold and present the American flag and members of the Missouri Highway Patrol will follow with full honors. A Bagpipe presentation will conclude the service.
