Patrick Currivan was intensely curious, which made him a wonderful traveler. "Whatever chance he got he quizzed people," said Kathy Marshall, a neighbor who visited Egypt with him. "He really delved into their understanding and knowledge of their own country, where they were and who they were, and he constantly asked questions. And if you were smart, you stood around and waited to hear the answers."
He had traveled extensively on the Silk Route and in Syria, and was particularly interested in the richness of Islamic culture, visiting mosque after mosque in Cairo, said Ms. Marshall's husband, Paul.
Mr. Currivan, 52, a vice president at Atos-Euronext, was born in Ireland and had moved about a decade ago from Paris to Winchester, Mass. He was on Flight 11. His friend John Adamson remembers Mr. Currivan as a gifted talker. "He would drop a well-chosen phrase or word into a conversation, then stand back and watch the effect with a big twinkle in his eye."

Rest in Peace Patrick. We were coworkers in Honeywell Bull in Paris. It is hard to think that so many years have passed since this tragic day.

Remembering PJ who was always so kind to me, remembering our travels in London and around the west of Ireland, fifty years ago. I still find it hard to believe that you were in that plane at that time.
