Not sure what to say?

While I also had an Air Force career, I didn't accidentally run into Pat until 27 years after graduation from the University of Portland when my wife, Janice (who knew him well), and I sat next to him at pre-retirement briefing at Hickam AFB, Hawaii. I was proud to have served with him, as an AFROTC cadet, on the championship drill team: the Mitchell Rifles. Enclosed is a photograph (Pat on the left) after a "bit of celebration," after winning the Western Region Drill Competition at...

I spent 3 years as a little girl across the street from the Daly Family. Patrick's parents Betty and Pete were wonderful people and included us Nelson girls in the fun. Sending prayers to the whole, extended family.

Pat was one of the most positive guys I've know, also one of the most clever and mischievous. A loyal friend, American and fraternity brother, he will be missed and remembered.

Pat was a good friend in grade school, high school, college and life. He was a flamboyant character who left many stories to be told by his friends. If you don't know the story of his life, read his book "The Sluggo Chronicles." He will be missed by me and many others.

Pat was one of my closest friends all through high school and college. We spent many summers camping together, hunting ducks in the fall, fishing in many lakes and rivers, and sharing other adventures that are too numerous to mention. I will miss him very much.

Thank you sir for your service to our country. I appreciate all you did and the sacrifices your family endured.
