Not sure what to say?

I had the great honor and pleasure of working with this man's son, Mike, while we were detectives for the CPD until I retired several years ago. Whenever he spoke of his beloved father, Mike displayed a reverence that was reserved for few others. The give and take there was an art and a common language among us all then. Mike had few equals in those exchanges. I'm confident he learned that important skill from this good man.
My deepest condolences to him and all of his family.

Mike, we pray God gives you and the family comfort in this time of loss.

I knew Pat as a parishioner at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lena. He was very devout and also very friendly. He always sat in his car for awhile before 4:00 Mass on Saturdays. As I approached him, he always honked his horn and waved. He followed my son in his athletic career and always asked about him after he graduated, which I really appreciated. Pat was a great guy, and I will really miss him.

What warm memories I have of Officer Dyra as the footman at Holy Name Cathedral in the 1960's. He knew all the characters, rich and poor, well before that neighborhood became so heavy and respectable...the west end of it, anyway. I saw him be kind and generous to the bust outs, and he knew the secrets of the streets. May he know God's peace now, until you hold him again some day forever. Mike, you're cut from the same rich, strong bolt of cloth as your dear Dad...good for the CPD.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Dyra Family at this sad time in your lives.

Dear Tom, Mike, Dan and family,
We are sad for your loss of a great and funny man and father. He instilled in you what it means to be a man. We think of all the times we stopped over at the house in Lena while camping at the state park or just because. Your folks invited Bruce for dinner many times while he was in training in Freeport. Such a great man, husband and father...goofy uncle too.
I think of the dedication to his Lord, his church and also your mom's and how they went to...

Sympathies to the Family of Patrick. He was always a happy friendly Guy. He was always willing to help at Church and he will be greatly missed. Patrick always made us laugh he made this world a better place. Robert and Sylvia Wurster
