Not sure what to say?

I was going through old photos today and found this. Pat had the best smile and will always be missed.

Patrick was a wonderful young boy in my third grade class at OLA -- quiet and sensitive-- with a sweet smile. God bless you and your family.

i'm a professor at UC Davis. I did not know Mr. Ewing but I do know a lot of people here have been looking forward to his arrival. This obituary was able to convey a bit of the reason for this anticipation. The Ewing family was lucky to have been blessed with such a son, and I hope that his life will continue to enrich theirs through his blessed memory.

Pat you were a good friend and one hell of a ball player! You are far too young to have passed. You will be forever missed. My thoughts go out to your family. RIP buddy.

my prayer to the edwing family i had the honor to met pat he was a nice person and always giving people advise i have to autistic children and he teach me how to make lovely poems about them i will never forget the kindness of what he teach me to do.

Patrick was a teaching colleague at Monterey Peninsula College and I am deeply saddened by his loss. Intelligent, kind, insightful and creative, Patrick shared his knowledge and enthusiasm with the Creative Writing Club freely and to great effect, and I remain grateful to him for his collegiality and generosity of spirit. I'm glad to have known him and to have been, for a year or two, his friend.

Pat was in our writing group during SCWriP and afterward. He was a master craftsman with words. His writing was sensitive, and thoughtful. Other times, he was so funny, that we couldn't stop laughing. His spirit for life will be missed. My condolences to his family.

Patrick has been a wonderful friend that I will never forget. His great help, his friendship, his smile, the talks and the meal we had together before I left Santa Barbara...... All these fondest memories are still fresh in my mind and they are always there. The two delicate green cups on the shelf in my living room always remind me of those fondest memories. The cups were the gift to me from Patrick. I feel Patrick is still among us.

I was fortunate enough to have Pat as a colleague and friend at UCSB. I admired his passion for poetry, literature, and teaching. He will surely be missed.
