Patrick D. Flaherty Sr.

Twenty one years later and you are still remembered fondly, Mr. Flaherty. Your instruction in Latin and the classical education has been such a strong base for my life. I also have a love for Werther's candies because of you. Your legacy lives on.

Mr. Flaherty was a talented, energetic,and dedicated teacher. He made daily Latin class enjoyable for me and some of the best/funniest stories from Weber High School occurred in his classroom.

He was a favorite teacher of so many of us because he always gave of his time and talents and he had a great sense of humor.

It was with much sadness that we learned of Pat's passing. He was a good friend though we have not seen him for a few years. Pat stood up at our wedding in Sept. of 1957 and was a good friend all through my years at DePaul Univ. Sorry this is late but we don't get the Trib every day and then I don't read it right away when I do get a copy.
He will be in our prayers.

We were very sorry to hear about the passing of Pat. We met recently at my sister Mary Sroka's funeral and shared some childhood memories with him.

We remember Pat as a wonderful outgoing person that loved his family and always wrote a wonderful Christmas letter to everybody. He recently gave us a copy of his family tree.
Sarah Loughlin was my mother and she was also very close to Mary Casey.

Pat was my cousins husband. He was a wonderful man who loved his family, teaching and flowers. My garden is beautiful with many starts from Pat. The most recent one (1 1/2 yrs. ago) named "the pretty little weed".

I met Pat at St John Cantius Church in Chicago a few years ago. He was the Dean of the Latin & Greek program there. Always giving his time to others, his kindness will not be fogotten. He was my teacher, and my friend. I will miss him very much.
