Not sure what to say?

Pat embodied all that is great about the Irish, a sense of humor, compassion for our fellow man, hard work, the ability to lose time while storytelling, providing a favor because you could and a love for family. I met Pat through Billy Murphy and came to know him as an assistant with the office. I've been gone for 9 years, but my heart still lingers with that office. On every trip back to 26th Street, I made a point of stopping by to visit with Pat.
I am so very sorry for your loss. I...

The 7th and 8th floors at the P.D.'s Office at 26th Street will always have the Pat Gleason presence. Legendary figures never let death douse their flame.
The dry sense of humor on display during lunch will be deeply missed.
Laughter is so very important in the lives of Public Defenders, and Pat had an uncanny ability to make light of any situation, however seemingly dire to the Attorney involved. The fretting and worry soon turned to upbeat laughter. Pat will always be with us.

Dear Gleason Family,

I have known Pat for almost 30 years. I liked him when I met him, I liked him for all the years I knew him, I learned to greatly respect him, and I will very much miss our hallway conversations at the Courthouse. All that said, you are in my thoughts and prayers because you will miss him in infinite ways.

I was so shocked to see Pat's picture and death annoucement in the paper on Wednesday. May I extend my deepest condolences to Judy and the rest of the Gleason family. I certainly enjoyed working with Pat when we were coaching 5th & 6th graders in football at St. Cletus. He was a very wonderful person to work with and the world will certainly miss him.

Please accept my deepest condolences. As you know, I worked with Pat for many years, watched and gloried with him over his triumphs, commiserated with him over his losses, ate his fabulous pea soup, and leaned on his strong shoulder when I needed to. He will be missed.
Sincerely,
Andrea Lyon

Tony,
My deepest sympathy to you and your family. You are in the thoughts of all of us at MacNeal School.
Sincerely,
Dawn Callahan

I truly enjoyed working with Pat at various legal seminars in which we both participated. He was a decent, compassionate man, who will be missed by all. My thoughts are with you. Michael Metnick

I was deeply saddened to read of the passing of Pat. We were grammar school classmates together and so we shared a bond though we haven't seen each other in such a long time. My sympathy to his family.

Many wonderful things will be said about Patrick over the next days and weeks and all of them will be apt. What we most treasured about Pat is that he was a world class teller of stories. His jokes were lengthy and told with an impish glint in the eye. His stories about his sons were filled with fatherly pride. He was a knowledgeable, insightful person who nourished our souls with his narrations and wit. He was a man who mattered.
