It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we tell of the passing of our beloved Patrick Lee Holloway of Dallas, Texas on Wednesday, July 26, 2016. Adoring father, husband and son, kind and caring brother and friend, Patrick was born September 4, 1962 in Dallas to Linda Wickett Holloway and Pat Sterling Holloway. In 1971 he moved to Burke, Virginia with his mother and wonderful stepfather Jimmy Allison of Midland, Texas. When the family moved back to Midland, Patrick attended the Trinity School during his formative years making many close lifelong friends, both young and old. He became a young reporter at the Midland Reporter-Telegram, scooped stories from a bicycle seat to the chagrin of seasoned professionals and discovered his interest in photography. In 1977 he transferred to his adored Westminster School in Simsbury, Connecticut where he graduated in 1980. Pat returned to Dallas and attended Southern Methodist, where he played on the club lacrosse team until graduating in 1984 with a bachelor's degree in Psychology. During the summer, he worked in Giddings, TX for PetroLog as a field engineer while learning the family oil business. His father, Pat S., owner of Humble Exploration Co., Inc., was in the process of drilling over 200 wells in Lee, Fayette and Washington counties. In the mid 1980's, Patrick met Nancy Knutson of Victoria, Texas and on February 22, 1988, they married. Their first child, Ian, was born in 1993 and his "baby girl," Brooke Ann, followed in 1997. Pat was an extraordinary father, taking every opportunity to arrange expeditions or attend events with his children. He took an active interest in providing opportunities to bond with his children and dedicated himself to making sure they had the tools they needed to be successful. He was the kind of dad that was at every game and every school function, typically standing in the back, quietly but enthusiastically filming the accomplishments of his cherished children. Pat's passing has left a major void in the life of his loved ones though countless happy memories will always remain. As a young adult Pat learned to love music and recording, becoming a dedicated Deadhead. This eventually led him to establish the successful NetStreamLive webcasting production services company. His clientele included Fortune 100 companies, broadcast and internet networks, leading U.S. and European production companies, houses of worship and professional sports clubs. Patrick's family was proud of his accomplishments as an entrepreneur. Pat maintained a wide web of friends from every phase of his life that spanned the country. He was an outstanding cook who loved to convene friends and neighbors for communal dinners. He often broadcast movies or baseball games on the Greenway for his friends and neighbors. Adventurous, fun and a smart, he was an informed and articulate participant in the world conversation. He had letters published in a variety of prestigious periodicals including local and national newspapers. Pat was extremely concerned about and devoted to action on environmental issues. Patrick's genuine personality, spirituality, loving heart, spirit and soul touched many people. His love of nature, the environment and photography drew him close to the beautiful landscape and people of West Texas, in particular the Big Bend National Park and surrounding areas. He had a long-time plan to relocate to Ft. Davis which he was close to carrying out. Patrick was an attendee of St. Michael and All Angels Episcopalian Church where he volunteered his services to produce the annual Christmas pageant. A memorial is scheduled for October 29, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Michael and All Angels. Memorial donations may be made in his name to the Nature Conservancy at www.nature.org or the charity of your choice. Patrick is preceded in death by his father Pat S. Holloway and sister Catherine Gail Holloway of Austin, Texas and Linda Wickett Allison of New York, NY. He is survived by his wife Nancy Knutson and his children Ian and Brooke Holloway, of Dallas, TX, and sister Marcy Holloway of Austin, TX.
