Patrick Marshall Hughes

I was very sorry to learn of the death of Pat Hughes today in the Washington Post, and I wish to express my sincere condolences to Karlene and all the other members of his family. I met Pat when he and I were both assigned to the 9th Infantry Division at Ft. Lewis, Washington, in the period 1979-1983. We were working with a new concept of having lighter and more lethal divisions and the 9th Infantry became for a time the "High Technology Light Division" or HTLD to accomplish that mission. ...
