Skaja Terrace Funeral Home - Niles Obituary

Patrick J. Leahy, born 9-26-62, died 11-26-16; beloved and most cherished brother of Mary Jo and Meg; cherished son of Joseph (d.1999) and Patricia (d.2015). Patrick battled leukemia since 1999 and most recently lymphoma. During his illnesses he always felt he would get better and his sisters did also. His most recent bout was too much for him and he died peacefully with his family around him. Patrick attended St. Angela grammar school and Notre Dame for Boys, as well as DePaul University. He worked for Arthur Andersen, Murphy Accountants, and the City of Evanston for the last 27 years he was employed. He has many cousins on the south side as well as in Niles. He will be missed by many who loved his wit, his humility, and his kindness. "And, in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make". Visitation Tuesday 4 PM until 9 PM at the Skaja Terrace Funeral Home, 7812 N. Milwaukee Ave., Niles IL. Interment Private. Memorials to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society will be appreciated. Funeral info: 847-966-7302

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BINK!

Merry Christmas, Bink. We miss you dreadfully. Love, me

Sincere condolences on the loss of your brother. From Julie Harmata Booth

My deepest condolences go to the family of Patrick. He was a brilliant, loving and a most humble man. He never complained or felt victimized by this terrible disease, instead he kept a positive attitude and worked with the deck God handed him. With the strong support and love of his sisters, he tried to beat it, but the body can only take so much. He is reunited with his parents in heaven. His love stays alive in our hearts...he will be missed. God Bless his Soul, may he RIP.

My deepest sympathy on your loss.
