AUBURN - Patrick J. Loperfido Jr., 56 of Lawrenceville, Ga., formerly of Auburn, passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, July 4, 2011 at his sister's home on East Genesee Street with his family at his side, after fighting a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Auburn, the son of Rose LaPorta Loperfido and the late Pasquale 'Patsy' Loperfido. Pat was a graduate of the first class at Auburn High School, Class of 1973. He resided most of his life in Auburn, until moving in 1998 with his wife Elizabeth to the Atlanta, Ga. area to be closer to their sons. Prior to his illness, Pat had been employed for several years as a regional manager for Standard Coffee in the Atlanta area. Pat will be sorely missed by all his family and friends who were fortunate enough to get to know him. He brought a smile to anyone's face, with his quick wit and loveable personality, he will continue to live on in our hearts. Pat loved people and everyone in return loved him! He is survived by his two loving sons, Patrick and his wife, Regina Loperfido, Anthony Loperfido; mother, Rose Mary Loperfido; a brother, James and his wife, Rita Loperfido; two sisters, Terry DeRosa, Mary Anne Giacona and her husband, Joseph, all of Auburn; a beloved granddaughter, Elizabeth 'Betty' Rose Loperfido; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Pat was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth 'Betty' in 1999; and his father, Patsy Loperfido. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at 11:30 a.m. Friday, in St. Francis of Assisi Church for Patrick's services. Calling hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, at the Pettigrass Funeral Home, 196 Genesee St., Auburn. Pat...Remembering you today from a place where the sun shines a little less bright since you´ve been gone.Reminiscing of so many fun fond memories especially your sense of humor and that I will always cherish.I can see you and my sister Betty dancing in Heaven. All my prayers and blessings are with the Loperfido family. Pat was a character in school and always had a smile that lite up a room. He's with Betty now in heaven. Rest a sure, The good Lord will take good care of them.

I miss you so much! My heart aches because you are no longer with us. I wish you were here to see you one more time. It is so hard to let you go. I know God called you home early to be with Betty and our loved ones. I pray for Patrick,Anthony,Regina and Little Betty for strength for the journey. We love you so much. You are forever in our hearts Pat. You will never be forgotten. We will look after your boys,Regina and the baby until we meet again.

Patrick-Anthony, I have nothing but fond memories of your Pop. Just thinking about him brings a smile to my face. He lived his life to the fullest and brought everyone near him along.

How sadden we all were to come home and hear of the passing of Pat.
We all have very fond memories of Pat and Pat and Rogie together.
Pat was a good friend to all of us. Now think of the fun they are having together. Rogie, Betty and Pat.
May God Bless him and you all at this most difficult time in your life.
Remember his smile and love, that will keep him close to your hearts and you can live a life time on that.
