I am sorry to hear this. Pat was my second cousin, as our fathers, Justin McCarthy and Giles Hefferan, were first cousins. I remember as a very young child going with my parents, Giles and Alice, to Michigan State to visit Pat and Joan and the kids when Pat was in school there.
