Not sure what to say?

A moment in the life of a teacher. I knew Pat from elementary school and called him, Pat. The 1st day in high school during lunch break. Charlie Farulli and I were walking the school grounds when we saw Pat walking towards us. As we passed each other Charlie and I said "Hi Pat". He hit me on the shoulder and said "watch it". Charlie and I looked each other puzzled. Then I realized we have to call Pat, Mr. McGraw when on school grounds or in class. So we both said "Hi Mr. McGraw. He was a...

Besides being an excellent teacher and coach I can remember Pat with his strong Irish voice answering the responses in church in a powerful way. We need men like him now. God Bless Pat and his family.

Jan, Coleen & Family - It can be so hard to face the first year without your loved one, but the love of family and friends can carry you through. So sorry for your loss.

Our prayers are with your whole family. Your mom and dad loved you all so much and it always showed. You have a wonderful extended family and that is the best legacy! May the faith that your parents instilled in you carry you through your sorrow.

Love,
Dennis and Annette Massengill

Mr. McGraw was, just as the obit stated, my favorite teacher in school. His historical knowledge, especially local history, was a great resource, and always interesting- it played a key role in my love of American history.
I knew him in the early 90s, and remember him as a very thoughful, unassuming individual, but in a way that commanded respect. There was no "better than you" on this man, and his kindness was easily read.
I can absolutely say that I am a better person having had him...

I will certainly miss Pat. He was an inspiration. My condolences to the family.
