Brandon's Mortuary, Inc. - Malvern Obituary

Patrick Thomas Mitchell, affectionately known as “Pat,” peacefully closed his eyes for the final time on Wednesday, June 21, 2025, while at home, surrounded by comfort and love. His life was one well-lived—full of laughter, kindness, and unforgettable moments.

He was born on April 1, 1971, in Portland, Oregon, to his devoted parents, Nathaniel Mitchell and the late Brenda Lock Mitchell. Pat was raised in Malvern, Arkansas, where he attended local schools and graduated from Malvern High School in 1989. As a proud member of the Mighty Malvern Leopards Marching Band, led by the legendary Mr. Butler, Pat helped bring halftime shows to life—earning top scores at band competitions and leaving lasting impressions.

After graduation, Pat answered the call to serve his country, enlisting in the United States Navy. He served aboard the USS Wisconsin (BB64), a modernized Iowa-class battleship, during Operation Desert Storm. While on active duty, he earned multiple commendations, including the National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, Combat Action Ribbon, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with two Bronze Stars, and the Kuwait Liberation Medal, among others. He served honorably for four years before returning home.

Pat had a deep passion for aviation, which led him to pursue a career as an aeronautical engineer. He was proud to work for Falcon Jet, where he applied his technical expertise and love for flight—until his health began to decline.

He was a proud member of St. Luke’s Masonic Lodge #23 and was known for his quiet strength, sharp style, and magnetic presence. Pat's love for music was inherited from his parents, who often filled their home with songs and celebrations. That musical spirit helped shape Pat’s smooth charm and easygoing nature. He was the kind of man who lit up a room—tall, polished, well-groomed, and always wearing a welcoming smile. He had a great sense of humor and loved joking around with family and friends.

An avid motorcycle rider, Pat enjoyed riding alongside those closest to him, finding joy in the freedom of the open road. Later in life, he was blessed to meet and marry his soulmate, Lisa McNeely Mitchell. Though their time together began later in life, their bond was unshakable, and she remained by his side faithfully until his very last breath.

Pat was preceded in death by his loving mother, Brenda Mitchell; maternal grandparents, Ona and Vivian Lock; and paternal grandparents, Sydney and Tokie Lee Mitchell.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his devoted wife, Lisa Mitchell of Malvern; his children: Patrick Mitchell Jr. (Sydni) of Dallas, Texas, Brandon Mitchell and Isaac Mitchell of Little Rock; daughters: Te’laya Smith of Las Vegas, Nevada and Raegan Mitchell of Houston, Texas; bonus children: Isaac Blakely and Leona Hogan, both of Malvern; his father, Nathaniel Mitchell; one brother and best friend, Boyce Mitchell (Alex) of Malvern; two sisters: Mitzi Mitchell-Conner (Kobie) of Los Angeles, California, and Christy Schramski of Tucson, Arizona. He also leaves six beloved grandchildren: Sky Thompson, Star Thompson, Soleil Thompson, Ase' Thompson, Emersyn Mitchell, Isaiah Mitchell, Angel Blakley and a host of other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service honoring Patrick will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Malvern. A repass will follow in the church fellowship hall. In accordance with his wishes, his earthly body will be cremated after the service. His online guestbook is available below.

Brandon’s Mortuary is honored to serve the Mitchell family during this time of remembrance.
