Pat and I were ph.d. Candidates together at the university of a Missouri. We became good friends...saw him Spokane, in NJ sevral times, even stayed with him at his house...he was not the most attentive as to house cleaning, but my wife and I loved him. We met his son when he was two ? In Columbia ....I am the one who spillled hot wax on his arm.... Pat loved to accuse me about that over the years. The last time Pat and Joanne got together was at the Palmer House for dinner...many, many...

I just learned today of Patrick's passing. Our mothers walked together when we were in our baby carriages. My mother always raved that Pat could sing "School Days" in infancy, but, ha-ha, I became the musician! There was also a story about him warning my mother of wet paint on a railing at First Street, probably at one year old. Memories! Cheers for a life well-lived. Rest in peace.
