MONOLO, Patrick Angelo, 28, of Wilson, N.C., formerly of Beaverdam, Va., passed away on September 15, 2011. Patrick is survived by his parents Joseph and Sandy Monolo of Beaverdam, Va. He is survived by his brothers, Robert Monolo (Christy) of Beaverdam, Va. and Michael Monolo (Missy) of Aynor, S.C.; and his sister, Tracey Monolo of Fairfax City, Va. Patrick is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Sherry Seidel of Tucson, Az., Tim Monolo (Mary) of Chesterfield, Mo., Howard R. Smith (Jennifer), Becky Monger (Dwain), R. Garnett Smith Jr. (Debbie) of Beaverdam, Va., and Stuart R. Smith (Sharon) of Rockville, Va. Patrick was preceded in death by his uncle William A. Smith. He was the grandson of the late Joseph and Vera Monolo of Kirkwood, Mo. and the late Robert G. and Retta Smith of Edgewood Farm, Beaverdam, Va. Patrick is also survived by many cousins, friends and his beloved dog Randolph. Patrick graduated from Patrick Henry High School in 2000 where he starred in basketball and football. Patrick continued his education at the University of Mississippi and Virginia Commonwealth University, graduating with degrees in Chemistry and Forensic Science. Patrick was employed by Global Laboratories in Wilson, N.C. as a Chemist. Patrick is cherished by his family and friends for his wit, laughter and smile. An avid NASCAR and SEC/NFL football fan. Patrick was often seen wearing his Ole Miss baseball cap or New York Giants ski cap. Patrick thoroughly treasured the time with his family and friends and is remembered for his caring ways, his thoughtfulness and consistent presence. Family and friends will be received at the Nelsen Funeral Home, Reid Chapel, Ashland from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 18, 2011. Funeral services will be held at Nelsen Funeral Home, Reid Chapel at 1 p.m. on Monday, September 19, 2011, with burial at Trinity Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Beaverdam Heritage Foundation for Pops Country Store Museum, P.O. Box 132, Beaverdam Va. 23015-0125.
