Pat was a top level collegiate athlete, a superb coach, and a wonderful friend. I was fortunate to spend many trips to NCAA XC and Track Nationals while he brought distinction to Clarion University Athletics. The PSAC coaches all respected and admired Pat for his professionalism and competitive spirit. Late in his career he served the sport as my Vice President of the USTCCCA National Coaches Association. He also helped bring strength and stability to the only coaches union in the country...

I developed a deep respect for Pat Mooney when we were together at Northfield Mount Hermon. As a soccer and lacrosse coach, I had the utmost respect for Pat´s coaching. He was organized, committed and got the most out of his athletes. He was my Athletic Director and led a well run department. I am enriched whenever I think of him.

Jared & Family, we are so sorry to hear of your grandfather's passing. He sounds like he was a very accomplished man and an inspiration to many. You and your family are in our thoughts.

Coach Mooney was my track coach at Clarion U 1995-1997. Coach Mooney instilled upon me great leadership skills, showed me how to encourage and bring the best out of others. Never discourage, always encourage. I did end up lettering two years and would not have done that without his constant belief in me. Thank you Coach for the valuable lessons. Rest well.

I was an athlete of coach Mooney's at Clarion University year 2000-2004. He was an amazing coach and mentor and had a great impact on me. He will be missed dearly. Thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Coach Mooney was a teach and coach of mine for 4 years at Northfield Mt. Hermon 1969-1973. He was a great coach and mentor and a significant influence in my life. I am better for having him in my life during those years. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
