Patrick Muzzillo Obituary

Patrick (Tony) Anthony Muzzillo went home to the Lord suddenly on July 21st. He was born February 24th,1982 and was a normal little boy, rambunctious and happy. All our lives changed on September 13, 1986, when he was hit by a motorcycle and severely head-injured. And blessed by the Lord, he survived. After several weeks in the hospital and lots of therapy, he became the boy we all loved. He developed a great love for baseball, baseball cards, and memorabilia. He played in Little League, managed his high school baseball team, and became unofficially "inspirational manager" for the Mules baseball team, with his many quotations. Someone suggested he write a book, so he did. He met many Big League players, but his favorite was Buck O'Neal. His wife, Melissa, had gifted him with a trip to Cooperstown for Buck's induction. Afterward, he had a massive seizure, which stopped his heart.
He was also into Boy Scouts, attending from Cubs all the way through Eagle Scout. He was the youngest boy in his troop to reach that goal.
He was employed by Sodexo Foods for nearly ten years, and made many friends there.
He met his wife, Melissa, in an online discussion, and communicated with her for five years before he actually met her in person. They got engaged on that first meeting, and were married July 26, 2014, in Watertown, New York, where they continued to live.
He leaves behind his wife Melissa, of nearly eight years, his parents, Mike and Sue Muzzillo of Warrensburg, and his younger sister Angela Swope of Somerville, Massachusetts, a Boston suburb. Also surviving is his mother-in-law, Rosemarie Millen of Ilion, New York. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Pasquale Muzzillo, California and Marjorie Muzzillo of Denver, Colorado and his maternal grandparents Ward "Jack" Phillips and Mildred "Ruth" Phillips of Warrensburg.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ, Warrensburg Restoration Branch, at a later time.

I am so saddened to see that Tony passed. My tears are flowing after reading the obituary. I am related. My father, Mario, was Pasquale´s brother. I only wish we could have been closer. I spent time in Alaska with Mike and his family in my early childhood. I also did not know that Aunt Marge had passed. Please accept my condolences for this difficult time. Donna Sawyer

Our family was sad to heat of your loss. Tony attended school with my son. I remember Tony because he was part of the school baseball team. What a nice young man! God's comfort and peace be with you.

Remembering the plans we had made to meet up on my travels, but then the pandemic foiled our plans. Was looking forward to seeing your collection of Nolan Ryan baseball cards. I enjoyed our many conversations about baseball, and that we were like minded about politics. I will always regret our missed opportunity to meet up. I enjoyed horse trading in baseball cards with you.

I just met tony and we had several discussions of how we knew each other from warrensburg and where we both were at in life now and that was just a couple months ago. I´m super happy to meet this guy who I ended up liking kindly and I´m really encouraged by his story and he motivated me to want to do more. I´m sorry for your loss and he will be greatly remembered by many. May God bless and enrich your life

I am so sorry to hear of Tony´s passing. He touched my heart as a little boy. We were able to keep up our memories through Facebook. May he find eternal rest and the peace of Christ come to you.

We met Tony several years ago online, via a baseball group on Facebook. He was a supportive, caring, loving friend. We will miss him! Sending prayers to his entire family, especially to Melissa. Just can't believe that he's gone, but he sure left a wonderful legacy.
