Patrick O'Keefe

Tomorrow I am walking in a Tunnels to Towers event in South Carolina in memory of Patty O'Keefe. I will wear your picture and name. Never forgotten.

We send our deep sympathy to your family. This tragedy happened many years ago but we wanted to mention that we are so sorry for such a sad loss. Patrick touched the lives of many and will always be remembered.

I am currently 16 years old and on September 11th I was to young to know anything. Yet I am the son of a hopeful search and rescuer. His name was Frank Dillon he told me about a couple of brave friends he knew that were killed that horrible day a few months ago. The person that inspired me the most was you Patrick O'Keefe. Yet I only knew you by a name I didn't have a face or an idea about you I just knew you were a firefighter a one of the bravest people on earth. So I searched and searched...

I didn't know Patrick but on 9/11/14 my son was born. We loved his story of family,honor and dedication. Our son was named in his honor. We will forever be greatful for his heroism.

Thinking of you on this day and proud to have known such a good person and a true hero.

Another year has gone by...but you still come to mind so often. Tim looks and acts so much like you. And Jen has your sharp sense of humour. It's a comfort...like a part of you is still with us all. Your family is moving ahead...making strides but you are always with us. We will always miss you and the happiness and good times that surrounded you...your crazy bright outlook on life. Always in our hearts Pat..always and forever.
