Thought about you last night, Pat. The Mets had their first no-hitter ever, thrown brilliantly by Johan Santana. I was there in the upper deck, and I'd like to think somehow you were there, too.

I was very saddened to hear about your sudden passing, Patrick. As fellow Mets fans, we shared the same Loge 19 section at Shea Stadium for many years, suffering the lows and celebrating the highs of our beloved team. I always looked forward to those Sunday games when we'd talk baseball and share a joke. It will be hard finishing this season without you, Patrick. You will always be remembered dearly by me, my wife, and all of us who knew you in Loge 19.

I will always remember you, Patrick, as one of the nicest people I have ever met. Your gentle and genuine ways were incomparable. I am glad I met you and got to know you in the very short time you were with us at the bus yard. Keep rooting for the Mets, Patrick! God Bless You.

You walked in with a smile, only moments later you were gone. We tried Patrick, to give you life, to make you stay with us longer. We did all that we could so that we could see you smile once again. Sadly, that was not to be. Perhaps the sayings are true, that you felt no pain and that you are indeed in a better place. I for one do not find comfort in those words. Instead, My comfort comes from knowing you, working side by side with you, listening to your stories of the Mets and the times...
