I first met Pat (and his lovely wife Rose) when I was just a teen, moving to the Southside with my family. My Grandparents were his next door neighbors for nearly 30 yrs. He ALWAYS went above and beyond being neighborly, sharing vegetables from his garden, keeping an eye on the neighborhood and always asking us how we were doing. I worked at a video store before becoming the police and Pat Rooney used to come in quite often. What a nice man- forward years later and I meet Pat Rooney working in Area One. First thing I asked him was are you related to The Pat Rooney- he laughed and said it was his dad! Condolences to the Rooney Family. I worked with Pat in the Area One for a lot of years. He will always be remembered by me with a smile. We enjoyed the job and working with Pat was an honor. He was a good man! God bless!
