Of Swartz Creek, age 70, died Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at McLaren-Flint.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11am Thursday, October 24, 2024 at St. Robert Catholic Church, 310 North Cherry Street, Flushing, MI, Father Brian Lenz officiating.

Visitation will be 4-7pm Wednesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Rosary will be prayed, 6pm Wednesday evening, at the funeral home. �There will be visitation from 10am Thursday at church until the time of the Mass.

Cremation to take place following the Mass.

Patrick was the youngest of Harlan and Dorothy (Murphy) Vance's four sons. He was born November 24, 1953, in Flint, Michigan.

Patrick was a 1973 graduate of Carman High School. Patrick retired after 40 years of service at Sears and Lane Bryant.

Patrick was a friend to all, whether family or neighbor and always willing to lend a hand. He enjoyed collecting and watching old movies, particularly the black and white classics. Patrick was happy when he was working in his yard tending to his beautiful flowers and bushes.

Surviving are his brother, H. Robert (Sharon) Vance; nephews and nieces, Tom (Lynda) Vance, Chris Vance, Teresa (Matthew) Sullivan and Tanya (Russ) Klont; great-nephews and nieces, Tyler, Lauren, Riley, Ryder, Lex, Matthew, Emma, Vance, Carter and Quinn; great-great-nephew, Harrison; special cousin, Martha Murphy. His Springbrook friends, Shirley Smith, Tony and Sheryl Medore, Bob and Suzi Hughes; longtime friend, Claire Lewis.

Patrick was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Thomas S. Vance and Joseph (Mike) Vance.

We will miss Patrick’s daily walks with his precious canine friend, Barkley. I remember the day Barkley saw a squirrel and got loose from Patrick and how we finally bribed Barkley with a treat and got him back with Patrick.
