Adobe Creek Funeral Home - Petaluma Obituary

We celebrate the life of Patrick Welter, born on December 6, 1945, in San Antonio, TX, and who departed this life on July 22, 2023. Patrick was foremost dedicated to his faith and family, embracing life with infectious positivity, resilience, and charisma. A proud graduate of Carmelite High School and Fresno State University, Patrick served in the U.S. Air Force, the Coast Guard, and the Air Force Reserve. His dedication to service extended into his professional life in medical sales, which was marked by a generosity of spirit that extended beyond just his business dealings. Patrick truly cared about making his customers' lives better.

He lived in Sonoma County for the better part of 50 years, having also resided in Woodland Hills, Fresno, and Brentwood, California. Patrick loved sailing, going on walks, reading, and spending time outdoors on weekend excursions with family and friends. He loved connecting with people, his charismatic personality shone through in every conversation, and he was tireless in his generosity in serving others.  Above all, Patrick was a devout Catholic who served as an usher at mass on Sundays, was involved with the Knights of Columbus, and ensured his children attended St. Eugene Cathedral School. He lived by the verse from Matthew's gospel, "Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."

Patrick leaves behind his beloved wife, Patricia Welter, and his cherished children and their spouses: Marian (Paul) Tamayo, Timothy (Kimberly) Welter, Paul (Teresa) Welter, Peter (Kenda) Francis, David Welter, and Anna (Rony) Perez, as well as his sister, Cindy Feltes, and eight grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Marie Welter, sister, Marceline Scontrino, brother, Michael Welter, daughter-in-law, Sarah Welter, and brother-in-law, Dennis Feltes.

A vigil service will be held in his honor on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at 5:00pm at St Francis Solano Catholic Church, 469 3rd Street West, Sonoma. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 28, 2023 at 11:30am at the church. Services are under the direction of Adobe Creek Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Petaluma.

Not sure what to say?

Patrick and I attended and graduated from Crespi Carmelite High School in Encino, CA. We worked on many odd jpbs in those days. He went on to be the best man at my wedding and the godfather of my two children. No better person could have fulfilled those roles. Rest in peace old friend.

Grandpa was a Key Person in my Life after I watched my Parent's wedding Video I saw every Dance that he made and thought that I might do it in honor of him at Homecoming at the End of September.

I send my condolences to all of Patrick’s family members. As his first cousin, I will always fondly remember and miss Patrick, to be especially remembered as someone that cherished family, faith, and brightening people’s lives with love and humor readily given.

Dear Anna sorry to hear the passing of your dad. My condolences to all of you and God Bless you all !

Pat was a phenomenal parishioner at St. Eugene's Cathedral - a profoundly devout Christian and committed member of our community. Whenever there was a need or opportunity to help, he volunteered his considerable talents and resources unstintingly. In addition, Tricia and he gladly welcomed the priority to provide the best possible education for their six children, all of whom have gone on to splendid careers. My condolences to the family on this enormous loss in their lives.

Patrick was a very gracious man. In reading the obituary, it truely hit the mark. Good job !! Rest in Peace my friend.
