I worked with Patrick on Div 60 lakeside. He was such a neat guy yet a diamond in the rough. He brought us all down to earth. He will be missed. His name "pops up" from time to time. His spirit lives on in those that knew him. Judi Schonfeld

Patrick would be 40 years old if he was in our presence today. He lived deliberately, following his own bliss in what he sensed was the right way to live.

He became my nephew when I married my wife. As a new member of the family I found Patrick hard to talk to. He was not unapproachable but he did not, in my observation, engage in casual pointless verbal banter. I thought that if I could touch on a topic that would stir his desire to express himself and his views and opinions I could...

Dear Whalen family,
I was one of your next door neighbors in Cleveland Heights and used to babysit for the children at times. I remember Patrick as quiet, sensitive and thoughtful but willing to join Michael in most of his daring escapades. It sounds as if Patrick continued to be kind and caring as he matured and he also pursued adventure and challenge. I was sad to learn that his earthly life had ended. Be comforted that Patrick remains in God's tender care.
