I first met Pat in 1986 when I chaired the Pharm. Sci. Dept. at Wayne State and Pat was a post-doc in Jim Coward´s lab in Ann Arbor. At that time, we hired Pat to teach a biochem course on a part-time basis for one semester. Pat Woster was a faculty colleague and very good friend of mine in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences; for many years his office was next to mine in Old Shapero Hall. Pat was exceptionally quick-witted and funny. Pat was also brilliant, hard-working, and super-productive as a scientist. And Pat was an exceptional teacher, receiving the "Teacher of the Year" award from the graduating pharmacy students on more occasions than one can count. I am shocked to hear of Pat´s passing so early in life. I worked with Pat closely for 8 years in the MEDI division. Pat was so easy to work with and had a great sense of humor. Pat was a great chemist, mentor, and colleague. My condolences to Carin and family. Jeff Zablocki

I am a colleague of Pat's from the medicinal chemistry field. We worked together for some years in the leadership of a division of the American Chemical Society, from which he received many well-deserved accolades. I am deeply saddened by his loss. He was not only a brilliant discoverer of new medicines, but also a great mentor and friend to those who worked with him. My heartfelt condolences to his family.
