Patsy P Filippone

I remember Patsy, who attended Bloomfield Junior High where my Dad, Herbert S. Hardie, taught Instrumental Music. When Patsy auditioned for the Manhattan School of Music, my mother, Anita Westermann Hardie, accompanied him on the piano. I remember them rehearsing at our home. Mr. Filippone is the first music teacher I remember having. He was an example of the excellence in music education in Plainfield. Because of Mr. Fillippone and the others who followed him, I have a rich music background with which to instill a love for music in my own students at Newark Christian School. He has left a wonderful legacy.
