Patsy Gay Obituary
1926-2017
Patsy Burnham Gay, age 91 passed away on Saturday October 21 in Forestville, California and will be buried with her husband, William Clark Gay, Jr., at Houston National Cemetery on Wednesday Nov 1 at 2PM. Rev Jeff Christian of Bering Drive Church of Christ will officiate.
Patsy was born in Dallas on September 4, 1926, and grew up in Houston. She graduated from Abilene Christian University. After marrying Bill Gay, they moved to Brazil where they led an adventurous and fulfilling life with their three children, Stephen, Bill and Patricia. She loved teaching Sunday School for junior-high age girls at the Fellowship Church in Sao Paulo, and was active in countless ways in the English-speaking community in Sao Paulo.
As empty-nesters, Patsy and Bill owned four successful businesses in Sao Paulo: Gas station, real-estate office, motorcycle parts shop, and computer accessories store.
With a bright, generous and energetic spirit, she touched many lives and always left a trail of warm memories with all those she befriended.
She is survived by her children Stephen and Patricia, grandchildren Paloma and Colin, and in-laws Kevin Williams and Elaine Rainho Gay.
Patsy was predeceased by her husband of 47 years William Gay, Jr. and her son William Gay III.
