Proctor Funeral Home - Camden Obituary

Patsy Rose Hodge left this world to go to her heavenly home on June 22, 2024. She was born in Prescott, Arkansas, on June 29, 1940, to Lena Young and Leonard Young.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her husband of 49 years, Connie Mac Hodge, her stepmother, Barbara Young, her infant grandchild, Bailey Ann Hodge, and her son-in-law, Larry Orr. She leaves to cherish her memory her 3 children, Pamela (Mike) Whelan, Tami Orr, and Greg (Melissa) Hodge and Andy Simpson who she thought of as a son  She also leaves behind her sisters, Kay (Paul) Offutt and Joan Revels, her brother Carlos Adams, 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, step-siblings and others who will deeply miss her.

Pat was only 18 years old when she married her sweetheart, Connie Mac. They had a deep and abiding love for one another and enjoyed raising their children and working side by side for years on various jobs and projects. She looked forward to the day she would be reunited with him in heaven.

Pat was a member of Adams Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Chidester. She learned to play a few basic hymns on the piano and soon became a church pianist and later the organist. She continued in that role for many years.

Pat was always up for learning something new and became a volunteer fireman for the Two Bayou Fire Department when she was in her forties.

Pat and Connie were co-owners of Hodge Upholstery and later Connie’s Auto Glass. Pat was the secretary/ bookkeeper there until she retired.
Pat’s dearest friend in the world was her sister, Kay. They enjoyed traveling together and took many memorable trips together including 2 trips where they rented and drove a canal boat through the canals of the English countryside.

Pat will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her memory will live on in the hearts and lives of all those who knew her.

Visitation will be 9:00-10:00AM Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Adams Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral service will be 10:00AM, Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Adams Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Riddick Cemetery.  Bro. David Johnson will officiate the service.

Not sure what to say?

Sis. Pat Hodge was an amazing and kind person. When my father was the pastor of Adam’s Chapel in the 90’s Pat became our grandma. My sister and I loved her very much and I’m saddened to find out that she had passed. Heaven gained an incredible human and she is reunited with Bro.Connie.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I have many fond memories of "Miss Pat" while growing up in the Adams Chapel community. Always such a warm, friendly lady to us kids. Always a joy to see and visit with her at the fire station in later years. I know she will be missed by many but leaves lots of cherished memories and a legacy of love.

So sorry for your loss. Your mother was a very special lady. May God give you peace and comfort!

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. I always enjoyed going to church with Pat at Adam’s Chapel Church. I’ve been thinking of you all and pray that you cherish wonderful memories of her.

My deepest condolences to the family and friends. May Gods grace and mercy comfort you.❤

Too many memories to name one but the fact that she accepted us as sisters and brother when Her dad Leonard married "us"! She was such a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother and sister. We never considered ourselves steps we were just sisters. Her legacy of faithful child of God lives on. We laughed a lot, she has been a joy and Connie was forever the love of her life. Fly with the angels dear sister you are missed but are sitting in the presence of God!
