Patsy Ann Hoepfner

Patsy Ann Hoepfner, 87, of Wichita Falls passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.

A Celebration of Life for Patsy will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls with Pastor Donny Napier officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00 P.M. at Crestview Memorial Park. Come and go visitation will take place Friday, February 14, 2025. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

Patsy (aka Granny Patsy or Nanny) was born March 2, 1937 in Wichita Falls, Texas, to the late Paul Andrew and Eula Dovie (Barnes) Collier.

Patsy was the baby of the large and mischievous Collier family. She was tough as nails with a heart of gold and made all things beautiful and good for friends, family, and strangers alike. She drove around Wichita Falls taking care of the people she loved and doing the things she liked with a hot pink bumper sticker that said, “Don’t Mess With Texas Women.” 

Patsy elegantly brought her immediate and extended family together for countless holidays, birthdays, and meals featuring her cookies, cakes, pies, and fried chicken. She could whip up a multi-course meal for a million people in minutes. No matter where she lived, she grew a gorgeous garden with stunning roses, and always had time for picking up pecans, a tennis or card game, a dog walk, or a western novel. Patsy had a talent for sewing and worked hard as an expert seamstress and the most-detailed upholsterer around. At the end of her career, she enjoyed cooking and baking for Troy Collier’s Texas Best Meats in Henrietta.

Her generosity and love were unmatched and she was adored by her late husband’s Cecil Streich and Mack Knight. Patsy married Kenneth Hoepfner later in life, and they shared her final years together with great joy, laughter, and love. 

Along with her parents, Patsy was preceded in death by sons, Antone “Tony” Ruddy and Sammy Ruddy; grandson, Chad Ruddy; sisters, Pauline Doyle and Janis Kay Herring; brothers, Neal Collier, Jack Collier, Stean “Doc” Collier, Richard “Rip” Collier and Joe Collier.

Patsy is survived by husband, Kenneth Hoepfner; sister, Sally Mataska Holt; sister-in-laws, Martha Collier and Emma Lee Collier Gilmore; three children: Cody Ruddy and his wife Beckie, Tommy Ruddy and his wife Donna, Sherry McGee and her husband Joe, and daughter-in-law Julie Ruddy; eighteen beloved grandchildren; countless great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
