Patsy Wilson Obituary

Patsy June Wilson, 84, passed away Friday, March 3, 2023 at Silver Oaks Health Campus. Patsy was born July 22, 1938 in Peoria, Illinois. She was the daughter of Annabelle and Bud Hawkins.

Patsy grew up in Columbus and was a long-time member of Flintwood Wesleyan Church. When her mother passed, she went to live with Bud and Helen Hashman who instantly considered her part of their family. Patsy lovingly called them "Mom" and "Dad". After Bud and Helen passed, Pat Littrell and Susan Waltz became her guardians until she moved to Silver Oaks and her extended family grew even more. The staff members at Silver Oaks were very special to her and made her time there truly memorable.

Patsy loved animals, especially cats. She had a kind and loving soul and won hearts over everywhere she went. She loved being around people and those closest to her would always be greeted with a smile and "wuv you buddy".

Patsy is survived by her family, Pat Littrell, Susan Waltz, Jane Ellis, Larry Elkins, Cindy Hashman, Buffy and Phil Shelton; many nieces and nephews; and all of her extended family at Silver Oaks. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ann and Bud Hawkins; and her "2nd parents", Bud and Helen Hashman.

A funeral service in honor of Patsy will be held Friday, March 10 at 3 pm at Myers-Reed Chapel with Pastor Wes Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery. Friends may gather for visitation from 1:30 pm until the time of the service on Friday.

Memorial Donations in her name may be made to C.A.R.E. Inc. (Community Animal Rescue Effort) or the Flintwood Wesleyan Youth Program.
