Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home & Crematory - Ardmore Obituary

Patsy Ann Lyons Bulard Wright, 61, of Ardmore, Oklahoma passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, March 31, 2023. She was born July 5, 1961 in Augusta, Georgia to Robert and Georgie Lyons.  In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Dennis Wright, her two beloved children, Elliott Bulard of Los Angeles, California and Julian Bulard of Lake Havasu, Arizona, stepdaughter, Kelcey Wright of Yukon, Oklahoma, one brother David Lyons (Maury) of Heber Springs, Arkansas, one sister Gretchen McMahan (Scott) of Searcy, Arkansas, nephew, Cooper McMahan and nieces, Georgie McMahan and Brooke Lyons, and a host of cousins.

Patsy was a beautiful and creative soul.  She was an amazing designer and seamstress, loved doing photography and adored art.  She attended the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences and received her degree in Dental Hygiene, graduating first in her class.  She moved to Ardmore and helped start the first dental implant center.  She worked as a hygienist for 8 years until the birth of her first son, at which time she decided she wanted to be home full time.  She spent the next several years investing in the daily lives of her children and encouraged them to follow their dreams.

While Patsy's early career was focused on dental hygiene, her true calling was in the arts. She dedicated herself to her passion in her adult life and spent countless hours immersed in the world of art, constantly learning and growing as an artist, and even studied Art at Sotheby’s. Patsy's passion for art extended beyond her own creations. She was an avid collector and connoisseur, always on the lookout for the next great piece to add to her collection. Her love of art was infectious, and she inspired those around her to appreciate and explore their own creative talents.

Patsy’s legacy of creativity and passion for the arts will live on through her children, nieces, nephews and all those who she encouraged to follow their dreams and pursue their passions with the same fervor and dedication that she did.  She will be deeply missed but never forgotten, and her spirit will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 5th from 9:00-11:00 a.m., with a service celebrating her life immediately following at 11:00 a.m. at Harvey Douglas Funeral Home in Ardmore.  A private family interment will follow.

Services are entrusted to Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home and Crematory, where words of comfort for the family may be sent online at www.hdouglasfuneralhome.com.

Not sure what to say?

Patsy, thank you for being you. I will miss you.

Patsy was in my dental hygiene class at the University of Oklahoma! All 20 of us felt like we experienced boot camp together and formed a special bond! Fashion always came easy to Patsy and she always had a spunk to her! RIP Patsy. Prayers to her family as they say so long for now!

Julian and Dennis, My heart is breaking for y’all! Patsy was such a beautiful and brilliant and loving woman, mother and wife. She loved her boys and the smiles she had on her face when she found you Dennis showed her happiness! Always remember the love and fun and happiness you all shared! She’s always with y’all always! I know you feel her presence! Take care of each other and help each other thru this! I know it’s hard! Take care!

Patsy and Ron were my first employers in Ardmore. I was Patsy’s maternity leave hygienist when she had Elliot.. it was supposed to be temporary, but quickly turned into permanent after Elliot was born. She wanted to be home with him full time. She loved being a Mom. She designed and created all of the baby room bedding and accessories. From food to fabric, she could do it all. Truly an amazing artist and creator. It was just second nature for her. She was truly one of the most talented,...

Patsy was a generous, loving and very talented woman and will be sorely missed. We send our condolences to her family. Tem & Cindi Barrett.

So sorry for your loss. Prayers for the family.
