Patty Jean Falls, 88, passed away at home in Sanger on Wednesday, March 27th, 2024.  She was born at home in Corryton Knox Chapel, TN, on July 27th, 1935, to Mary Lou Smith Clapp and Orange Lee Clapp.

In school, Patty was quite an athlete.  She excelled in basketball and enjoyed competing in other types of sports.  She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Tennessee and obtained her teaching certificate.   Patty married Joe Ross Falls of Savannah, TN, on July 3rd, 1958, at Camp Gary in San Marcos, TX.

In 1970, she and Joe moved to Sanger, Texas.  She was a teacher, homemaker, and business partner to Joe as they farmed, ranched, and raised their family together.  Patty enjoyed canning and sewing, adding a creative touch when sewing garments for herself.  Additionally, she loved nature and working outdoors.  Patty also worked for FEMA for just over ten years before retiring.  They were members of the First United Methodist Church in Sanger.

She is preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Fairy Ella Garner, Ruby Lee King, Alma June Phipps, her oldest son Alfred Lance Falls, and her grandson Samuel Dean Starnes.  Patty is survived by her husband, Joe of Sanger; her children, Penny Karen Starnes and husband, Floyd of Tyler, TX; Mary Cathrine Falls of Flower Mound, TX; and Andrew Ross Falls and wife Debbi of Edmond, OK.  Grandchildren H. Lee Starnes and his wife Huong of Humble, TX, Emily Rose Falls of Oklahoma City, Chloe Elizabeth Falls, and Matthew Lance Falls of Edmond; and great-granddaughter Willow Le Fiona Starnes of Humble, TX, also survive her.

Visitation for Patty is from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm, Monday, April 1st, 2024, at the First United Methodist Church in Sanger, TX, with funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm.  Pastor Larry Kruger will officiate the services.
