Paul Bowser, 69, of Churubusco, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026, at Lutheran Hospital Downtown.
He was born on May 16, 1956, in Garrett, to the late Wayne and Betty (Miller) Bowser. Paul's formative years were spent in Churubusco, where he graduated from Churubusco High School in 1974 and later furthered his education at Ivy Tech.
Paul was married to Julia Shank on June 29, 1979, in Churubusco. Together, the couple built their lives in Churubusco and raised two sons.
Over the course of his life, Paul spent more than 38 years in industrial maintenance, starting with a notable 18-year tenure at Rae Magnet Wire, followed by 20 years at BF Goodrich, where he left a lasting impact on his coworkers and the industry. His commitment to craftsmanship and community was highlighted by his membership as a Master Mason, which he cherished deeply.
In his youth, Paul developed a passion for aviation, which kindled a lifelong love for exploration and adventure. He found joy in the rhythm of life, whether it was tending antique tractors or truck-cropping, or spending quiet moments in the woods hunting deer and coon. One of his greatest gifts was teaching his children and grandchildren the art of making maple syrup.
Paul is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Julia Bowser; their sons, James (Audrey) Bowser and Terry (Beth) Bowser; his brothers, Tom (Carol) Bowser, Randy Bowser, and Wayne Bowser; his sisters, Roxie Scherer and Melody (Mike) Bueker; a sister-in-law, Peg Bowser; a brother-in-law, Jr. Anderson; his cherished grandsons, Dexter, Mason, Colton, and Desmond Bowser.
