Not sure what to say?

So sad to come upon this obit ... Mr. Cerqua was my 5th Grade teacher 1968-69 at Thompson School, and was my favorite teacher ever. He inspired me to become the teacher I am today. I wrote him a letter a few years ago, and he called me to say hello. It was such a sweet surprise, and touched me very much. He was my "Mr. Holland" ... and will live in my memories forever. May the consolation of the Holy Spirit continue to lift up Paul's family and friends in their grief.

I am so sorry that you have lost Paul. My sincere sympathy to all of you. I lost Bob 3 1/2 years ago. Dolores, your children and grandchildren will help fill the void of your loss, but life will be forever changed. Sincerely, your old tenants, the Clancys (Bob and Jacky)

To the family and friends of this great man, my wife and I met in his speed reading class in Waltham High in 1995. We still use and remember the skills he taught us, as well as him singing in the hallways. We still remember how proud he was of his grandchild being born. Our life's memories together started with this man, and we're greatful for it. The world is a sadder place today. His memory will surely turn that around quickly. Our prayers and thoughts are with your family and friends.

Mr. Cerqua was a great guy. I had him for my driver's ed class and he was an excellent, kind, energetic, funny and witty teacher. When I heard that he had died, I couldn't believe a person so full of life and happiness could pass on. R.I.P. Mr. Cerqua.

My children all took the drivers ed class from Mr. Cerqua and I took the 'parents' class from him. Through wit, experience, and a keen knack for knowing just what to say, he managed to keep people interested and engaged in a topic that they otherwise might have spaced out. Mr. Cerqua will be greatly missed.

Mr. Cerqua was the funniest teacher I ever had. He made learning fun, but at the same time highly educational. All will miss him.

Dear Delores & Family,

We are so sorry to hear of Paul's sudden passing. I have known Paul since grade school and will miss his quirky sense of humor. He gave us a wonderful opportunity to become acquainted with special friends when he talked us into taking square dance classes. We will be forever greatful.
Our thoughts, prayers and spirits are with you at this difficult time.

Hugs, Jan & Mal MacDonald

Dear Karen and Delores,
I am so sorry to hear of the sudden death of your Dad and husband. My thoughts are with you.

Mr. Cerqua was a very nice man. his witty sense of humor made drivers ed a not-so-boring experience. He helped be an aware driver. i will never forget him. Im very fortunate to have been in the same room, and car with him. RIP Mr. Cerqua
