Not sure what to say?

I was saddened to hear of Mr. Dormont's passing. I had him for 8th grade history at MJHS in the early 70's. My memory of him was that he required everyone in the class to bring in a current event from the newspaper and be prepared to present it to the class if called upon, describing the who, what, when, etc.... of the story. Some classmates feared him because he assigned homework almost every night, but for me it helped instill a lifelong interest in history. My deepest sympathies to the...

Mr. Dormont was no doubt a favorite teacher of mine. His sense of humor and interest in the students was unsurpassed. The way he showed respect for the students invited respect in return. I went on one of the trips he ran to Washington and Williamsburg - he was great! It was a pleasure to see his children, who told me he was fortunate enough to lead a long and happy life.

Mr Dormont was one of my favorite teachers. He had such a great sense of humor, kindness and compassion for all his students.
The Madden family will always remember him as a very special person and a good friend to our Dad.
I have no doubt they are both telling joke and stories of their time
as educators in Maplewood-South Orange. To Paul Jr., our deepest sympathy from the Madden family.

Dear Dormont Family,
Mr. Dormont was my all time favorite teacher at MJHS. I have such good memories of my time with him and actually with your whole family. My heartfelt condolences on your loss. There is no doubt in my mind as to what he will have to say to the angels that get antsy in heaven!
Sincerely,

I fondly recall Paul Dormont, my ninth grade American History teacher at MJHS in 1946-47. We liked him and were relieved when he resumed leading the class after a month or so when he mentored a student teacher (she was pleasant and likeable, but she didn't have as much information to convey as he did). Now I am a retired English professor and I still like to read American history books. I am pleased to notice that Paul had a deservedly long life and grieve for the brevity of LCPL Cosgrove's....
