Not sure what to say?

Dr. Farkas was an incredibly intelligent man. H e was very humble and cared about his students. he was so humble he told us to call him Paul. I didn't even know he had a PHD until my final meeting for his class. I think of him often because he had so many interests.

I just heard about the passing of Dr. Farkas and have to say that I am deeply saddened. He was my favorite teacher at Metro, and often I have thought that I would not have gotten to where I am without his mentoring. He was my advisor on my honors thesis - short stories - and eventually became a sort of muse. All of my stories are now about men named Paul. I was looking forward to returning to Denver this summer and hoping that he would be teaching his Joyce seminar again so that I could sit...

I just heard about Dr. Farkas' passing and am deeply saddened. At 55 years of age I am just returning to finish my Bachelor's Degree in English. He was an inspiration to me 8 years ago when I thought I was too old then to go back to school. I was sincerely hoping I could finish my degree with a few more of his classes. My daughter also took several from him. Please accept my condolences. He was a wonderful Professor and many will miss him.

Dear Cindy, David and Christoph:
I was so shocked and saddened to lose Paul. I grew up with him, living in Ohio, and have such wonderful memories. He really was like an older brother to me. We shared go-karts, ice skating and family get togethers. I will mis him very much! I know you all have cherished memories to see you through this. Love, Joyce

Cindy,
i am so sorry to hear about Paul!! My thoughtsts and prayers are with you, David and Christoph!

I was so sorry to hear about the passing of Dr. Paul Farkas. I had a couple of classes with him at Metro, and he made a profound impact on me. He managed to instill in his students his own excitement about literature, myths, and even common fairy tales. He showed you how everything was connected and encouraged you to dig deeper. I will always be thankful for his gentle encouragement and guidance, and for introducing me to Joseph Campbell. He was kind and inspirational, and truly a gifted...

An absolute jewel of a human being, glimmering brilliantly, lighting the way for those whom he advised, taught and befriended. A generous wonderfully kind man.

His criticism, never pejorative always constructive. I looked up to Paul as my adviser, always pushing with his "Well what do you think about this notion or that notion?" echoing Socrates' stylistically.

Critically, recollection seems Paul was fluent in most schools of literary criticism from realism through feminism...

Cindy, David, and Christoph,
I am sorry for your loss. My prayers for comfort are with you. I am here to help and support you in every way possible. Paul is an extraordinary man. I enjoyed every one of our meetings and conversations. I always came away having learned something valuable.
God bless, see you soon.

I had the pleasure of taking one of Dr. Farkas' classes this year. He was an incredible and inspiring man. I still can't quite believe this. He shall forever remain a hero of mine.
