Paul Ward Farrell

I am ever so sorry for your loss, Brendan and family. Ward was a wonderful mentor, friend and colleague to me. I think of him often, and your description of his love of history, intellectual curiosity and his general congeniality bring back more memories. People all over the US asked about him when I travelled for business. He made many friends. Ward (and I can't say his name without hearing him say it in his Fitchburg accent!) was a special man.

My sincere condolences on the loss of such a sweet man. We worked together for several years at The Hartford Courant. His bright smile and dashing presence lit up a room. I have a picture of us at my wedding in 1987. He was a wonderful soul.
