GARRARD, Paul C. Jr. - Of Burton, age 67, died Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.



 



Funeral service will be held 11am Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Pastor Greg Wilbanks officiating.



 



Cremation will take place following the service.



 



Contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children.



 



Visitation 2-8pm Monday and 10am Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.

A Masonic Service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
        



Paul was born in Etowah, Arkansas on May 29, 1948, the son of the late Paul and Dorothy (Welch) Garrard. On December 8, 1979, he married Phyllis Martin. Paul worked for General Motors for 41 years retiring in 2006. He was a member of UAW Local 659. Paul was also a Past Master of Lodge 490 of the Masons and a member of the Shriners.



 



Surviving are wife Phyllis;



 



5 children, Tabitha (Steven) Teague, Billy Garrard, Wendy Martin, Angela Garrard and Ryan (Melissa) Garrard;



 



12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren;



 



sisters, Judy (Cletus) Fitzgerald, Karen (Greg) Wilbanks;



 



many nieces, nephews and many other family members.



 



He was preceded in death by his son, Paul Charles III and grandchildren, Catherine Teague and Madison Mansfield.

Paul was Master of our lodge this past year and I am very proud that he was. Paul did a great job. I know it was hard for him with him being sick. Rest in peace Paul

Wendy Martin, condolences to you and your family in your time of mourning!! May you all find the strength to stay strong for each other, especially for your mother.

Rest in peace cuz. I have many fond memories of our youth growing up together. I know life separated us, but you have always held a special place in my heart. I pray that God comforts all family members during this time of grief and loss.

My darling nephew, You have always been a smile for me. I will miss you, but all your struggles are over. To his sisters, God bless you. To his wife, you will always be family and to his children, carry on.

Angie, my heart hurts deeply for you at this time. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
