Not sure what to say?

I love his music arrangements for "Amazing Grace", "Closer Walk", and others. I spoke with him once on the phone about these, and he was a very nice, humble, man. I still play these on my trumpet.

Dr. Haack was a wonderful person and a great mentor. My career path is a direct result of his kindness and helpfulness. I hope I can repay what he taught me by teaching others.

It was a privilege to know Paul, except when he played at my head in City Band. He was always a friend and a great colleague to all. We have missed him in Lawrence.

MYNWA

Paul was my director in the Madison Scouts (1956-1957) and an instructor for my high school band (1958-1959). He was always a gentleman and somehow manged to tolerate my lack of musical skills. MYNWA.

Dear Paul Haack family and friends:
Paul was a kind and gentle soul. I always enjoyed my interactions with him as a colleague and student at the U of M. I never walked away from him without feeling respected and inspired. My heart goes out to you during this difficult time. God bless you and your family!

May God help you and your family find peace in this time of sorrow.

Although I did not have the pleasure of one of his classes, Paul was a delightful and kind man and I know many that studied with him and had nothing but wonderful comments. May he rest in peace. He will be remembered by a great many.

Dear Haack family,
Paul was my favorite music ed professor not only as an undergraduate at KU but also as a graduate student. He always gave us a challenge with a smile on his face. He was fair and respectful to all. I learned so much in each of his classes. He was a wonderful man and a revered member of the music education profession. I feel honored to have known him. My prayers are with you.
