Paul A. Hacker

So sorry to hear about Paul. It's been a long time but all the memories of the parties, dinners, etc still vivid. Real tough losing old friends. Maybe he's with other old friends now - Pete, Mark, etc.

I am so very sorry to hear of Paul's passing. I will always remember Paul as a spirited competitor from our years of playing basketball in the Adult Ed men's league; as a tireless volunteer from his years of involvement with the Booster Club; as a loyal support of the ICC Football program; but most of all as a cherished friend.

My thoughts are with you.

I never personally got to see Paul race but the "Hacker Express" is the stuff of legend. A truly talented driver and a gentleman.

He will be missed.

Mr. Hacker will be remembered for many things; his love for his chidren and anyone involved in their lives(his hugs were lengthy and sincere), his "car" stories that sometimes kept you on the edge of your seat, his "seriousness" when playing family football after Thanksgiving dinner, and his constant projects that he always volunteered others to join in on! Rest in Peace Mr. Hacker, you will be missed.

We got to know Paul very well as he faced the challenges of re-building his strength after his spinal surgery. All of the staff and the patients who worked along side him were so very impressed with his efforts to return to work. Paul was an inspiration as he carried out the exercise program and regained his strength. He kept everyone smiling with his conversations. May God bless you and your family. Mom called me this morning to tell me that Paul had passed away. I am extremely sorry for your loss. Jean, my heart goes out to all of you. Please know that I am here for you, as you were there for me when I lost George. I know how much you are hurting right now. I hope you know that God has his arms around all of you and will help you through this terrible tragedy. Paul was a great man and will be sadly missed by all. My love to all of you. Debbie

I deeply regret the loss of Paul. He was a friend, mentor, a gentleman, and a great racing driver. He and his brother Karl made the "Hacker Express" a dominate force in motor sports when I started my career over 25 years ago. I'm happy that we became closer by email several times a week in the last few years, and more recently we spoke on the phone often. I am very sorry for your loss. I went to school at Columbia with Paul. I also knew his cousins from Knickerbocker Lake and his Aunt Elsie and Uncle Lou.
