To the Family of Paul Hammerschmidt: I am writing to you from Naples, Florida, where I just learned of Paul's passing. As the former owner of Vanguard Dist. Corp., I considered Paul to be an important part of Vanguard's management team. To Paul´s family-my sympathies to you all. I´ve known Paul for so long I can´t remember how we met - either at NorthPark Cinemas or Music Den at the Mall. We would always bump into each other- smile and say hi. I´m saddened to think that won´t happen again. RIP my friend

I worked with "Hammer" at the Budweiser distributorship for several years in the early to mid eighties. I remember Paul as being a kind man who didn´t have a bad word to say about anyone and who was always willing to help in any way. I will always have fond memories. Russ Engels
