In 1975, Trey Hawkins had been admitted to Lourdes Hospital,(Paducah, KY), for knee surgery. I was also in for knee surgery, and was on the same floor. Same doctor, similar surgery, and something we both had in common. Although I was closer in age to Trey's younger brother, Greg, Trey was always a nice guy to be around, a good athlete, a fellow SPO brother, and someone that the younger guys from Mayfield, KY could look up to.
