Not sure what to say?

My deepest condolences to Doris, Kathy, Fred and Andy. Although I've never met you, through Paul I feel as though I know you. Paul and I were colleagues in the railway signal business from 1996 to 2001, when I worked for Alstom Signaling (General Railway Signal) in Rochester, NY. We traveled extensively together while working on various projects in Atlanta, NYC, and Taiwan, and became good friends in the process. He pretty much taught me almost everything I know about this business. Most of...

Paul was a very special man who was a privilege to have known. His courage was admired by all who knew him. I am deeply saddened by his passing.

My heartfelt sympathy to the Herre family during this most difficult time. May you find a soft and tender peace through caring family and friends as you mourn the loss of your beloved Paul.
Remembering our faith is such that we believe that all of us shall meet again with our lord in heaven.
Peace be with you all . From an early classmate and friend.

Paul and Janelle at Ron and Patty's wedding.

Paul was a wonderful person and a fun guy. Many happy times with the "Renegades", our kayak crew.
The accompaning photo is Paul at Patty and I's wedding. Paul caught the garter and Patty's sister, Janelle, pictured with him, caught the bouquet. He was such a gentleman about the whole thing. Paul was always a...

Paul was a good person, a good friend. He will be greatly missed. Ron and Patty Osche

Mrs. Herre, Andy, and Kathy I was saddened to learn of Paul's passing. My condolences to all of his family and friends. I know he will be missed by all of those who knew him. It has been many years since I had contact with Paul. He had been a good friend in school and in Boy Scouts(Troop 8). Reading the guest book, he touched the lives of all those who knew him. He truly lived the life of a Eagle Scout. With Deepest Sympathy- Don Mattson.

I am the daughter-in-law of Paul's neighbor, Lorraine Salla. My deepest sympathy to his family. I will miss seeing Paul's face on my families summer vacation to Pittsburgh. I know he will truly be missed by his neigbors and I will miss seeing him when I come to visit Pittsburgh. Paul had such a kind and gentle heart. Yard work this year just won't be the same for my mother-in-law with Paul always there to lend a helping hand or just to sit and talk for hours. I was always greeted by him...

Last party with Paul

Paul was an over the top kind of guy. Growing up he wasn’t just a boy scout, he became an Eagle Scout. When he would carve a pumpkin at one of our parties he wouldn’t just cut a couple of triangles and a mouth, he would carve an elaborate devil’s face with 47 tiny slits. When he went backpacking with us we would each have 35 or 40 pound packs. Paul’s pack would weigh 60 pounds. He loved to be prepared for any contingency, part of his engineering training as well as a basic part of his...
