Not sure what to say?

It was my pleasure to have served with Dr. Hess on Penn State Harrisburg's Environmental Advisory Commitee. We are all better off having known him.

How wonderful a time to have had an opportunity to work with Dr. Hess and consult with him on agricultural and environmental matters. Dr. Hess's concern for the environment and humanity in general had no bounds. As a result, he made great contributions to all of our lives. My deepest condolences to his wife, Judy, and to his daughter, Dr. Paula Hess, who proves without doubt that good genes do not fall far from the tree.

As a former student of Dr. Hess, I feel loss of his passing. Through his encouragement and mentoring, I was able to graduate from LVC '66 and accomplish a teaching career in CO. I truly regret not telling him of my appreciation for his contribution to my life. I never met his wife, Judith or his daughter, Paula, but I extend my sincere sympathy.

I will always be in his debt. He was a great educator and boss that sparked curiosity in those around him. Wow, and what stories he told. Again, he helped me help myself to become the successful person I am today. I'm proud to have know him and his family.

Having had the privilege of working closely with "The Captain", I can attest to Paul's substantial environmental and worker safety contributions to society, his care for others and his dedication to our country.
Paul was a true caretaker of the environment who provided both the leadership and delicate balance in many areas that benefitted the health and wellbeing of the residents of his community, The Hershey Co, and citizens in the Commonwealth. Well done Paul! My sympathies to Judy and...

Remembering Paul's wonderful spirit, creative mind, caring personality. A wonderful life well lived. Paul was a pioneer in worker safety and environmental management whose contributions will probably never be fully recognized or appreciated. He was a mentor to me at Hershey Foods, and I send sympathy to Judy and Paula.
